Mission

The Nisqually Indian Tribe social services department's mission is to utilize the Tribe's resources in the most well organized way to create social service programs to assure the Tribe's general welfare, allow prosperity, and preserve the Nisqually Native traditional way of life.

 

Goals and Objectives

To create programs that will uplift our members and their families, preserve healthy native families, inclusive to tribal culture and create a positive environment in our community Especially for our vulnerable adults, Elders and children.

  • Supportive programs planned to provide tribal members options for family living through outreach and interactive activities
  • Offer media or in-classes for tribal member families to learn lessons on healthy options to help and assist people on vulnerable adults and children
  • Assist families, adults, young adults, and teens with disabilities in rehabilitative services, including assessments, individual employment plans and support with goals
  • Create an inter-office referral system that will provide a plan and follow up of clients who go through Social Services for assistance
  • Help community families with a Social Worker that will visit, provide services and refer to other needed Tribal programs
  • Strengthen the Tribe's ICW (Indian Children Welfare) program to provide supportive assistance to families through out-reach and assistance. Create and develop positive activities for the Nisqually Community families in need. ICW program can help family and individuals to gain and acknowledge their own skills and abilities and make changes that will improve their well-being. ICW programs will create positive parent classes to help unite families. 
  • Outcomes for our mission is to create a positive and well-organized Social Services Department that serves our members and their families.
