I believe we need to work toward moving our tribe forward while continuing to protect our treaty rights and tribal sovereignty. I believe that our salmon and natural resources are still the foundation for who we are today.

David Iyall, Treasurer
David Iyall is a University of Washington, graduating with a degree in Urban Studies. He was also elected to Board of Supervisors for Thurston Conservation District. He was previously projects supervisor for the tribe, overseeing new buildings such as Head Start and most of the planning for the new Nisqually Health Center. He enjoys diving for geoducks and rooting for the Huskies and Seahawks.

Chay Squally, 5th Tribal Council Member
yəyistəblu (Chaynannah Squally) was born and raised on the Nisqually Indian Reservation and is an enrolled member of the Nisqually Indian Tribe. yəyistəblu  has earned an Associate in Arts Direct Transfer degree from Northwest Indian College at Nisqually. She has earned a Bachelor’s of Liberal Arts in Native American Studies, with an emphasis on revitalizing language and culture. She is currently working on her Masters of Arts in Education at the University of Washington, Tacoma. 
 
yəyistəblu has dedicated more than 10 years to the restoration and teaching of the Nisqually language within the tribal community. She is a bilingual educator who is passionate about her community and her people. She is dedicated mentor, teacher and language preservationist for the Nisqually Tribe. She co-created the “Teachers Teaching Teachers” summer and winter programs. yəyistəblu  has helped development curricula materials for Nisqually language that is used at Early Head Start,  Head Start and local elementary schools including North Thurston, Yelm and Bethel School Districts. yəyistəblu  is a lifelong learner, teacher and enthusiast for the Nisqually Language.
 
yəyistəblu is a rising educational leader and language speaker that aspires to share her knowledge and experience with all.
At this time she serves the Tribe as Fifth Councilwoman and was elected in 2021. yəyistəblu  is a proud mother of six beautiful children and one puppy.
