The Nisqually Tribe is committed to strengthening its families and protecting its children. Children represent the future and their success is necessary for the continued success and future of the Nisqually Tribe.
Helping families to ensure that each child achieves his or her greatest potential and preserving the unity of the Nisqually family are the primary goal of the Nisqually Children and Family Services Program (ICW). The Children and Family Serviced Program is committed to ensure that each child it serves will receive the basic needs of care in the areas of: culture, nurture, shelter, education and safety.
The Children and Family Services Program is committed to keeping children within their family or extended family within the Nisqually community of our Tribal land and surrounding counties.
Mission
The goal of the Nisqually Children and Family Services Program is to provide specific child welfare services to protect Nisqually youth as stated in the Nisqually Title 50 Youth Code and effectively and efficiently provide family preservation services to children and families.
The Nisqually Tribe’s Children and Family Services Program is designated to ensure child welfare, child placement, foster family recruitment and licensing, extended family home studies, and family preservation services in cases or situations requiring its direct involvement. The program strives for family preservation, reunification of families, and to help ensure the children achieve permanency that preserves their culture and family connections.
